You should try to find all five fireflies, a fox, an owl, a pair of woodpeckers, a single woodpecker, a deer, my recorder, marshmallows on sticks, a bluebird, a guitar, a squirrel, a red cuckoo, a frog, and the campfire! Have fun!Click on this VIRTUAL CAMPFIRE CLASSROOM Also, work on your PEDESTRIAN OR BIKE SAFETY PROJECT! Create a short video, complete with a song or rap that you make up,that teaches kids your age or younger about either pedestrian/sidewalk safety or bicycle safety/maintenance. As Principal Lewis has asked us to concentrate on this, it will be a good project to help out the whole Baker School community! Here is a famous example made for really young kids (but I think you’ll enjoy it anyway!) Sesame Street: Hootie & the Blowfish sing Hold My Hand (I don’t expect yours to be this long!) Here are 2 videos to watch so that you will know all the different issues that you could choose to make your video about: Remember, in relation to the traffic you should always Ride Right, Walk Against. Bike Safety ***1 thing I feel is NOT OK about this video-it shows kids riding IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TO TAKE A LEFT TURN. PLEASE DO NOT EVER DO THIS OR TEACH OTHERS TO DO THIS, IT IS DANGEROUS! Instead, you should safely get off your bike at a corner and walk your bike across the street to take a left-hand turn. You then have to cross the street again so that you RIDE RIGHT. Pedestrian Safety __________________________________________Week of May 25-29 Warm up Work on creating your song/script for your safety video

About the first video, “Joy”, how did they build the energy in this song from the beginning of this to the end? I hope you're all doing well. I'll be emailing you once a week with some activities you can do at home to keep thinking about choral singing. Today, I'll be giving you the links both here and on my website, which you can access through the Baker School homepage. But starting next week, you'll find it only on my website.
Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner or Your Own "America's Got Talent" I would like you to listen to many versions of a few of the songs that we have been singing in Chorus. As you listen, please take notes on what you think the group does well and what they can improve upon. Some topics to think about include: Diction, Open vowels, Overall Tone (clear, shouty, dark, light, young sounding), Posture, Riser Behavior, Following the Conductor, Dynamics. Then, you can think about which group you like best overall for each song and why. There are A LOT of videos here. Don't think you have to listen to them all at once! One or two at a time is fine, unless you're "BORE_", of course!
